I just purchased 3 Straight Talk Samsung R451C prepaid cell phones from Walmart.

Other people I have talked to have highly recommended this phone, so I thought I’d try it out. Using Verizon’s great coverage with no contract make these phones a great bargain (mine were priced at $99 each).
There are 2 plans available:
- $45 unlimited includes:
- Unlimited Minutes
- Unlimited Texts
- Unlimited Mobile Web Access
- Unlimited calls to 411
- $30 All you need plan
- 1000 Minutes
- 1000 Texts
- 30 MB Mobile Web Access
- Calls to 411 at no extra charge
However, I had a little difficulty when the Walmart cashier explained to me that you can only purchase 2 Straight Talk phones at a time. The slight smirk on the cashier’s face really made me think that he was kidding. But when I asked, “Are you messing with me?”, he replied, “No, that’s a limit set by Walmart on these phones because they are used for ‘traficking’.”
So, I purchased 2, and had my wife purchase 1 so that we could get the 3 phones that we need.
Has anyone else ran into this at Walmart? Reply to me on my Twitter twitter.com/garyfarnam or shoot me an email at gary@garyfarnam.org
Once I get a chance to try mine out, I will write a product review.
